A PERSONAL BEGINNING. A SHARED PURPOSE.Our storyIt started with one girl.
It started with one girl.
It became a movement.
A period should never stand between a girl and her education.
While volunteering in Mathare in 2023, Diana Nthenya saw a girl leave school because she had started her period and the school had no sanitary pads. She did not return to class for four days.
That moment led to a first sanitary pads drive, reaching three schools and over 1,000 girls. But short-term relief was only the beginning. In December 2024, BeyondBorders-For Her was formally registered to advance reproductive justice and equality through lasting, community-led solutions.
